The stunning and unusual Air Plant produces thick green almost needle-like leaves along a stem. With pink inflorescence that displays white flowers, this air plant can be shown as part of a collection of air plants or on its own. Requiring no soil, the Araujei Air Plant is certainly something a little different.

Best Locations For Growing Araujei Air Plant

The Araujei Air Plant will grow in any room as long as it receives enough light, but make sure it is not placed in harsh direct sunlight, which may cause it to dry out. Being such an unusual plant, you’ll want to grow it somewhere it will get noticed.

Araujei Air Plant Sunlight Requirements

This air plant requires bright, but indirect light to grow well. Near an east or west window is ideal.

Araujei Air Plant Care

Requiring a warm environment, the Araujei Air Plant is best kept at a temperature between 50 to 80 °F with relatively high humidity. However, good air ventilation is key to keeping this plant healthy.

Dead, broken and browning leaves can be cut back with scissors as required; making cuts at an angle can produce a more natural look.

Watering Araujei Air Plant

On average, the Araujei Air Plant needs to be watered once to twice a week by submerging it in tepid harvested rainwater for 10 to 15 minutes. However, hotter conditions will require the plant to be watered more frequently or misted in between waterings. After watering, it is important to allow the Araujei Air Plant to dry completely, as any sitting water can cause rotting to occur.

Feeding Araujei Air Plant

Although not required, feeding your Araujei Air Plant can help promote flowering. A specific Tillandsia fertilizer should be used as per the manufacturer’s guidelines as over-fertilizing can cause damage to the foliage.
