How to Use
- Choose Container: Select a container slightly larger than the old one. Ensure it has drainage holes and a bottom saucer. Cover large drainage holes with a screen for mix retention.
- Transfer: Carefully remove the plant from its old container, keeping the root ball intact. If pot-bound, gently loosen the roots for better contact with the new soil.
- Planting: Add a layer of mix to the bottom of the new container. Center the plant and cover the roots completely, leaving a 1-inch space at the top for watering. Press the mix down gently and remove any excess from the leaves.
- Watering & Feeding: Avoid wetting the leaves; water below them or bottom-water until the saucer fills. Check soil moisture levels and water when the mix feels dry to a 1-2 inch depth. Feed regularly with a fertilizer formulated for African violets.
- Growing Environment: Provide bright indirect light, 50-60% humidity, and temperatures around 70°F. Keep plants away from vents or fans that generate dry air for optimal growth.
