Peperomia ‘Ginny’ (Peperomia clusiifolia ‘Tricolor’) will add a lovely burst of color to any room. This beauty has wide, green leaves with an irregular creamy margin and blush-pink edges appearing on pinkish-red stems. Also referred to as Tricolor Peperomia, Pink Edge Peperomia, or Rainbow Ginny, this plant is easy to care for and compact. Its growth habit is slightly branching so pinch it back occasionally for a fuller plant.

Best Locations For Growing Peperomia 'Ginny'

Ginny prefers temperatures between 60-80 degrees F and enjoys bright indirect light and higher humidity. Avoid exposing Ginny to dramatic temperature shifts or cold drafts.

Peperomia 'Ginny' Sunlight Requirements

Bright indirect light will produce a more colorful plant. Avoid placing Peperomia ‘Ginny’ in direct sunlight as it will burn the leaves.

Peperomia 'Ginny' Care

In its natural environment, Peperomia grows in leaf litter, forest floor debris, and bark, so it does best in soil mimicking a nutrient-dense, well-drained, highly acidic potting mix. You can mix in perlite or sphagnum peat moss to assist in drainage. Occasionally pinch back leaves to give Ginny a fuller, bushier habit. Rotate your plant regularly to ensure each side receives equal exposure for even, balanced growth. Propagation can be accomplished by leaf cutting, stem cutting, and root division.

Watering Peperomia 'Ginny'

When the top half of the soil dries out, give the plant a deep soak, letting excess water go out the bottom drain holes. Peperomia does not like being in soggy soil; this will cause root rot. Soaking about once a month will keep your plant hydrated and happy. Its leaves appreciate an occasional fine misting with filtered water.

Feeding Peperomia 'Ginny'

Apply a diluted, liquid, succulent fertilizer once a month in spring and summer; no need to fertilize during the winter months.
