Pickle Plant Senecio is extremely drought, disease, and pest tolerant, making it easy to grow.
Best Locations For Growing Pickle Plant Succulent
The Pickle Plant Succulent is the perfect windowsill plant, or show it off under a grow light. Try to choose a location that will stay above 40° Fahrenheit. In the right conditions, this plant produces a gorgeous orange-red flower that contrasts nicely with its stem.
Pickle Plant Succulent Sunlight Requirements
This succulent plant needs bright direct or indirect light. Place your Pickle Plant where it gets the most bright light possible. Southern or western exposures are ideal.
Pickle Plant Succulent Care
Soil for this plant should be quick draining and sandy. A blend for cacti and succulents would work well or you can make your own mix by using 2.5 parts potting soil, 1 part coarse sand, and 1 part perlite. The Pickle Plant is naturally a vining plant, so to maintain a certain shape, it should be trimmed periodically.
Watering Pickle Plant Succulent
Allow the potting soil to dry completely before watering; the soil should be visibly dry. At that point, fully saturate the soil until water runs out of the bottom of the pot. A Pickle Plant kept on the dry side will usually grow more full and bushy.
Feeding Pickle Plant Succulent
Use a balanced fertilizer at one-quarter of the strength recommended by the manufacturer, approximately every two months. The Pickle Plant Succulent requires minimal fertilization.
