- Long-Lasting Blooms
The Pink Anthurium is also known as the pink flamingo or tailflower plant and for good reason, as its pink waxy blooms can last for weeks on end. Producing large, green and glossy heart-shaped leaves, this exotic-looking house plant is easy to care for and widely grown. Originating from the rainforests of South America, it is no wonder this plant thrives in humid conditions.
Best Locations For Growing Pink Anthurium
Thriving in high humidity, Pink Anthurium is best grown in a kitchen or bathroom, although it will grow elsewhere as long as it is misted regularly.
Pink Anthurium Sunlight Requirements
Pink Anthurium grows best in bright, but indirect sunlight. Harsh direct light can burn the leaves and stunt blooming.
Pink Anthurium Care
Preferring high humidity levels, the Pink Anthurium will benefit from regular misting and placement on a tray of wet pebbles. Being a tropical plant, it prefers a temperature between 65 to 85 °F and dislikes cold, drafty spots. Old leaves and faded blooms are best removed using a clean and sharp pair of scissors, cutting at the base of the stem. If the leaves gather dust over time, wipe them with a damp cloth to restore their glossy finish.
Watering Pink Anthurium
Pink Anthurium requires moist soil to thrive and will require watering around once to twice per week, depending on the conditions. Do not allow the soil to completely dry out in between waterings; instead, water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.
Feeding Pink Anthurium
Feed monthly during the growing season using a diluted fertilizer high in phosphorus, such as tomato feed, to encourage flowering.
