Purple Pixie® Dwarf Weeping Loropetalum (Loropetalum chinense ‘Peack’) is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its rich purple foliage and cascading habit. In spring, the plant is covered with vibrant, fringed pink flowers, adding a striking contrast to the dark leaves. Light reblooming continues into summer, extending its seasonal appeal. With its weeping form, Purple Pixie is ideal for use as a colorful groundcover, in mass plantings, or in containers and hanging baskets where the foliage can spill gracefully over the edges.
Purple Pixie Loropetalum Care
Plant in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter for best results. Water regularly until established, then maintain consistent moisture by watering when the top 2–3 inches of soil become dry. Plants grown in containers or hanging baskets may need more frequent watering. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to encourage healthy growth and flowering. Prune lightly after the spring bloom to shape the plant and remove any stray stems. Mulch around the base to help conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
