With its mint green leaves and bubblegum pink veins, the Roxana Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum, Goosefoot Plant, nephthytis) is a plant that looks soft and delicate but is anything but. This vining climber thrives in bright indirect light with regular watering and is a generally low-maintenance aroid. Providing a bit of color and interest, Roxana looks good in a grouping of plants or as a standalone focal point. This humidity-loving plant is perfect for plant newbies wanting to add a rare-looking plant to their collection.

Best Locations For Growing Roxana Arrowhead Plant

The Roxana Arrowhead Plant will do best in a bright window or within a bright room. Because Syngoniums appreciate higher humidity, Roxanne will do well in a bright bathroom or kitchen. Place it in a plant grouping or keep it in a terrarium to naturally increase the humidity around its leaves. Syngoniums are toxic plants, so take care when placing them in a home with children and pets.

Roxana Arrowhead Plant Sunlight Requirements

Place the Roxana Arrowhead Plant in a north- or east-facing window for consistent, all-day, bright indirect light. This plant can be placed near a south- or west-facing window as long as it is protected from intense afternoon sunlight. Because the leaves of Roxana are pale, it tends to need brighter light than the darker-green Syngonium varieties. In lower light, the plant may not grow much or may become leggy as it stretches toward a light source. Avoid direct sunlight, however, as the leaves burn easily.

Roxana Arrowhead Plant Care

The Roxana Arrowhead Plant does best in an airy aroid potting mix with plenty of organic matter that drains well. These plants can remain in the same pot for a couple years at a time. When ready to repot, choose a pot with drainage holes that is slightly larger than the previous. Because Syngoniums prefer humid air, provide Roxanne with a pebble tray or humidifier, or mist the leaves a few times a week, especially in drier climates and in the winter.

Watering Roxana Arrowhead Plant

Syngoniums like evenly moist but not soggy soil. Allow the top inch or so to dry before watering deeply, until water comes out the bottom of the pot. The frequency of watering will depend on lighting, temperature, and humidity, but will generally be about once a week to every 10 days in the spring and summer months. In the winter, cut back on watering slightly, always feeling the soil first. The Roxana Arrowhead Plant does not like to be sitting in water or having ‘wet feet’.

Feeding Roxana Arrowhead Plant

The Roxana Arrowhead Plant will benefit from regular monthly fertilizing in the spring and summer months. Mix a liquid houseplant fertilizer into its water once a month, taking care to follow dilution instructions. Over fertilizing can cause more damage than under fertilizing. There is no need to fertilize in the winter when plants are not growing as vigorously.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
