Best Locations For Growing Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema
Place Sparkling Sarah in a location that receives plenty of medium to bright indirect sunlight, and maintains room temperatures between 65-80 degrees F. Variegated Aglaonemas generally need more sunlight to maintain their colors. You can provide extra humidity by placing this plant on a pebble tray with water (be sure the water level does not exceed the height of the pebbles) or by misting the leaves a couple of times per week. Avoid drafty or cold locations as this plant will not tolerate being chilly.
Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema Sunlight Requirements
Sparkling Sarah does well in moderate to bright indirect sunlight. Be sure it has plenty of light to maintain its variegated colors and grow well.
Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema Care
Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema enjoys being planted in well-draining soil with ample perlite, or use a chunky bark-based orchid mix to promote drainage. Place the pot in comfortable temperatures between 65 - 80 degrees F. It appreciates occasional misting. You can use a clean, damp cloth and wipe off both sides of the leaves to keep them looking fresh and dust free. Propagate a mature plant by division in spring or summer by carefully pulling the root sections apart, or you may need to take a clean, sharp knife and cut the roots in sections. Replant these new sections in well-draining soil and place them in bright indirect light.
Watering Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema
Water when the top few inches of soil dries out. Soil moisture depends on many environmental conditions such as the time of year, room temperature, and sunlight conditions. Stick your finger a couple of inches into the soil to regularly check moisture levels. This plant does not tolerate soggy soil.
Feeding Sparkling Sarah Aglaonema
Aglaonemas are sensitive to over-fertilization and salt deposits, so use a balanced liquid fertilizer at half the recommended strength once a month during spring and summer; fertilize less frequently during fall, and avoid fertilizing altogether in winter months.
