Pet Safe

Thailand Peperomia is a tropical plant native to Central and South America. This epiphytic plant has deep-green leaves that are thick so that they can hold extra moisture. This easy-care plant is perfect for a first-time houseplant gardener who might not have the routine of regular watering mastered. Thailand is also on the NASA list of tested plants that clean indoor air.

Best Locations For Growing Thailand Peperomia

Also known as Peperomia obtusifolia, this plant is compact and so maintenance free that it works in just about any room of the house or in an office. Place the plant on a shelf or on top of a cabinet where the leaves can be seen at eye level. Peperomias are non-toxic and make lovely accents on a shelf in a child’s room.

Thailand Peperomia Sunlight Requirements

Bright Indirect light will keep Thailand Peperomia thriving. Lower light levels are tolerated as well as artificial lighting in an office or from dedicated grow lights.

Thailand Peperomia Care

Peperomia likes to be grown on a partially shaded patio or deck during the summer. The warmth and humidity will make the plant grow well. Make sure to bring it indoors before nighttime temperatures fall below 50 degrees F. Repot this succulent in the spring to refresh the soil and rejuvenate the plant. Prune out any dead or dying stems at any time of the year. Removing dead foliage is the best way to protect houseplants from pests.

Watering Thailand Peperomia

Peperomia is very easy to overwater and should always be left to dry out in between waterings. Underwatering is better for this succulent. Their large leaves can store water for a long time. In the winter, the plant can be left for 2-3 weeks before watering.

Feeding Thailand Peperomia

Regular fertilizing is not necessary. Repotting with fresh soil in the spring will keep this plant thriving with deep coloring.
