The heat-loving Blue My Mind® XL Dwarf Morning Glory boasts vibrant true blue flowers that start to bloom in the spring and last through the summer. The flowers retain a vivid shade of blue throughout the bloom cycle. Silvery-green foliage complements the blooms. The Evolvulus is a mounding plant that can trail up to 16 inches, creating a dramatic look as the foliage and blooms cascade out of a planter or hanging basket.

The dwarf Morning Glory is native to the Americas, and it is a perennial in USDA growing zones 9, 10, and 11. The plant is drought- and heat-tolerant, so this Morning Glory will thrive and look absolutely stunning at the height of summer heat. The Blue My Mind® XL Dwarf Morning Glory can thrive in a container, edging, landscape, or mass planting, and it can be used as a beautiful groundcover.

Blue My Mind® XL Dwarf Morning Glory Plant Care

This Morning Glory is very easy to grow and maintain, and generally, as long as the conditions are good, the plant will not require much attention. Full sun with at least 6 hours of sunlight exposure is necessary for the plant to thrive and bloom throughout the growing season. The plant needs well-draining soil with a pH of 6.0 to 8.0. Fertilize once each month during the spring and summer when the plant is blooming to support growth and encourage more flowers.

Spent flowers can be removed or allowed to fall off the plant. As the growing season progresses, the plant may look overgrown or leggy. If this happens, you can trim the plant back to rejuvenate growth. Established plants are drought-tolerant, but keep in mind that lack of water may impact the plant’s ability to bloom. Even though the plant can survive periods of little or no water, monitor the soil throughout the spring and summer and water when the top few inches are dry to support continuous blooms.

Blue My Mind® XL Dwarf Morning Glory Plant Spacing

This mounding trailing plant will be 4 to 8 inches tall and spread about 12 to 20 inches. Space the plant 8 to 16 inches away from other plants and buildings, giving it plenty of room to grow. The Blue My Mind® XL Dwarf Morning Glory will look stunning in a hanging basket or container, and a 12-inch pot can easily accommodate 2 to 3 plants.

Was a gift for my sister, while I haven't seen it myself, she was very pleased; she reports it is much bigger and more beautiful than any she's found grown in local greenhouses
