Guide: How to Care for Your New Plant(s)

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.

Plants Included In Candyland Annual Combination

Myriads of yellow, pink and glowing orange petite flowers blanket this sugary sweet combination of hybrid calibrachoa, making this the perfect hanging basket or container for your patio or porch this spring. Blooming all season, spring until hard frost, calibrachoa is the perfect choice to bring long lasting continuous blooms to grace your home. Trumpet shaped flowers with lush green foliage will cascade down the edges in your full sun to a light shade container or landscape garden. These would also look lovely in your window boxes.

Calibrachoa is an evergreen shrubby perennial from South America where it grows in the open grasslands. It is hardy in Zones 9 to 11, and is used as a long season annual everywhere else. Take advantage of this vigorous hybrid that is heat tolerant and blooms straight through even the hottest months of summer. It will appreciate some light shade in the hottest regions but blooms best in full sun.

Candyland Annual Combination Care

Use loose well draining soil in your containers as calibrachoa does not tolerate wet soggy soil. Let soil dry out between waterings and add a slow release fertilizer to the soil when first planting. Once established, use a water soluble fertilizer, like a 24-12-7, once every couple weeks as these annuals are heavy feeders. If your foliage starts to yellow, your soil pH may be off and calibrachoa are sensitive to this. Use of a chelated iron, whether in pellet or liquid form, will allow the plants to once again take up nutrients and be lush and green once again.

You have a choice in how to arrange your new plants in your planters. If using just two of the colors provided in the 4 ¼ inch pots, choose a 12 inch container or hanging basket. If you choose to use all three colors as depicted, use at least a 14 inch container for best results, spacing your plants up to 12 inches apart and arranging in opposing sides of the circle for best overall arrangement (see diagram). Interweaving the stems when they start to trail will give you an attractive ‘all over’ look. No deadheading is necessary, but plants benefit from a mid season shearing to promote branching and increased flower production.

Candyland Annual Combination Ideas

Want to add some real sizzle to your larger planters? Consider adding Graceful Grasses Toffee Twist Sedge, Carex flagellifera to your planter for some upright interest. Growing up to 24 inches tall, this cool season grass will add texture and a vertical feature to your patio planters. Although especially suited for container growing due to its inability to handle soggy wet soil, this group of flowering annuals can also be used in your garden beds and borders. Consider planting in a raised bed if your soil is compacted and heavy.
