The tall flowering spikes of Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium are truly a joy to behold come summer. Blooming around June to July, Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium develops strong and tall spires of magnificent double white flowers that are a florist’s dream. Reaching a height of around two feet, this delphinium is known to be a butterfly favorite.
Deer-resistant, Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium is ideal for both urban and rural landscapes. With its compact habit, the stems are strong and do not need to be staked. Suitable for growing in zones 3 to 8, Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium looks splendid when included in any herbaceous border or cottage garden scheme.
Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium Care
For the best display of blooms, Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium needs 6+ hours of sunlight a day. However, it does prefer its roots to be kept cool if possible, and an annual mulch will help. A rich and well-drained soil is highly recommended along with regular irrigation to prevent the soil from drying out. You can apply a tomato feed as the blooms appear to encourage the best display.
Deadheading the faded flower spikes can help extend the flowering season. As the foliage dies back, you can cut it back to soil level in the fall or winter. When grown in a container, frequent watering and fertilizing will help maintain and support its growth.
Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium Spacing
The Delgenius™ Neva Delphinium can grow to an eventual 20 to 24 inches high and 16 to 20 inches wide. When planted in a group for maximum impact, you can space plants around 18 to 20 inches apart.
