Double Take™ Eternal White Quince

Double Take Eternal White Quince (Chaenomeles speciosa 'SMNCSDW' PPAF) is a deciduous low-growing shrub known for its white double blooms. Its delicate double flowers start out light lime green and gradually turn bright white. Double Take Eternal White Quince has a relatively long bloom time from mid-spring to early summer. It is a thornless variety that doesn’t set fruit. This cultivar typically grows to a mature size of 2 - 4 feet tall and 4 - 5 feet wide. Double Take Eternal White Quince grows well in USDA zones 5 - 9.

This shrub is low maintenance when it becomes established. Double Take Eternal White Quince is drought and heat tolerant, and has good deer resistance. The large, double, white blooms attract pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies to your garden.

Quince requires part to full sun, receiving at least four to six hours of sunlight daily. Water at the base of the shrub to avoid water sitting on leaves, potentially causing fungal infection. Double Take Eternal White Quince Can grow in most soil types, but ideally the soil should be well draining and slightly acidic. Soil that is too alkaline may inhibit bloom development and lead to chlorosis. Fertilize either during the late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges.
