Dwarf Yaupon Holly Care
Caring for your new shrub is simple. Plant in full sun to part shade. It will thrive best in moist soils that are well drained. It does require more acidic soils but is not picky about type. Mulching around its base in cooler climates will protect its roots through winter. Fertilizer should be applied in the spring. Pruning is not necessary but pruning to shape or maintain size is tolerated. Pruning should take place in the winter.
Dwarf Yaupon Holly Spacing
When planting as a border plant, a hedge, or near other plants, spacing should be two to three feet, center on center. When planting near structures or pavement, plant at a minimum of three feet from edges.
