Coneflowers are easy-care plants that are prolific bloomers, and the Green Twister Coneflower offers up everything amazing about this plant, along with stunning bi-color flowers. The large flowers have a pronounced brown seed cone surrounded by long, thin petals. The petals of this Echinacea are narrow and light pink at the base, while the ends of the petals are a bold lemon-lime and flare out at the tips. Flowers bloom during mid to late summer.
This plant has an upright growth habit and features tall, sturdy stems. Plant the Green Twister Coneflower in beds, borders, or mass plantings. The showy flowers will be the focal point of a mixed bed or can be trimmed to display in a vase. Pollinators will visit the flowers, and birds will drop by once the cones go to seed, but the foliage is deer-resistant. Grow this beauty as a perennial in USDA zones 3 through 8.
Green Twister Coneflower Care
Green Twister Coneflower requires full sun to partial shade. Soil should be fertile and moist but well-drained. Water weekly or when the top several inches of soil dry out. Coneflowers are drought-tolerant once established, but water during a dry period to ensure continued blooming. Feed this plant using a balanced fertilizer each spring or top-dress the soil with a layer of organic mulch.
Remove spent flowers to encourage repeat blooming. Trim back growth in the fall or leave the flowers in place throughout the fall and winter so birds can eat the seeds.
Green Twister Coneflower Spacing
Green Twister Coneflower is an upright plant that will grow 2 to 3 feet tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Plants can be spaced 16 to 22 inches apart to create a full look.
