Blooms appear during the late spring and last until fall.
Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose makes a stunning border, screen, or hedge. It will need support to grow, so provide this plant with a strong structure to climb on. These roses do well on arbors, trellises, pergolas, or strong fences.
Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose Care
Joseph's Coat Rose requires full sun for best performance. This plant needs adequate sunlight to produce its stunning blooms; provide a minimum of 6 hours of direct light per day for a healthy rose. Water Joseph's Coat at the soil level to avoid powdery mildew on the foliage. Joseph's Coat Rose will need about 1 inch of water per week on average; it’s best to water when the top few inches of soil are dry. Plant this rose in a moist, well-draining location. Joseph's Coat Rose grows best in fertile, acidic soils.
To fertilize the Joseph's Coat Rose, use a liquid fertilizer twice a month during the growing season and a slow-release fertilizer late in the fall to prepare for winter. Prune Joseph's Coat before the buds appear in early spring. You’ll want to prune Joseph's Coat regularly to remove spent blooms and annually during the late fall months to prepare for winter. For the winter, apply mulch around the base of the plant.
Joseph's Coat Climbing Rose Spacing
Space your Joseph's Coat Climbing Roses 10 feet apart for best growth results. If you provide this rose with plenty of support from trellises, you will have a gorgeous wall of large roses in just a few years.
