Growing Zones
The Peachie Keen Agastache is ideal for a hot, sunny and dry climate. It produces peach-colored flowers that contrast well against its purple calyxes from mid-summer into the fall. An easy-to-grow perennial, the Peachie Keen Agastache develops a tidy mound of bright green foliage under the flowers and a final height of 2 feet.
A true sun lover, the Peachie Keen Agastache is both heat and drought tolerant once established. It tends to grow pest- and disease-free and is considered hardy down to zone 6. A North American native, it looks great when planted out in a group or added to a border or container for some late-season color.
Peachie Keen Agastache Care
As with all Agastaches, full sun and free-draining soil is needed to help this plant thrive. Heavier soils can be amended before planting by adding some grit or gravel to aid drainage. Water well for the first growing season and from then on during hot and dry spells. As a light feeder, the Peachie Keen Agastache does not generally require any extra fertilization. However, a slow-release, general-purpose feed can be applied very sparingly in spring if needed.
Deadhead the spent flower spikes to promote new growth over the summer. Cut back old stems in early spring before new shoots appear. Container-grown plants can be placed in an unheated greenhouse or cold frame to ride out the worst of the winter weather.
Peachie Keen Agastache Spacing
The Peachie Keen Agastache reaches a height of 20 to 24 inches and a width of 26 to 32 inches. A spacing of 30 to 36 inches apart will allow each plant to fill out and spread over the season.
