The bright pink, trumpet-shaped blooms of the Pink Calla Lily Grow Kit will be a joy when they open in late spring. Growing to 18 to 24 inches tall, the Pink Calla Lily doesn’t just develop stunning flowers, but also displays eye-catching green-and-white, speckled foliage. Calla lily is a tender perennial that can also be grown as an annual.
With its origins in Africa, it is no surprise that the Pink Calla Lily likes a warm and sunny environment. It can be grown as a perennial in zones 8 to 10 or lifted to overwinter indoors in colder areas. It looks stunning when grown in a container or planter, but is equally impressive when grown directly in the ground.
Pink Calla Lily Care
The Pink Calla Lily favors full sun to partial shade. However, some shade can be wise in southern areas with long hot summers. When it comes to the soil, it prefers a rich, moist substrate that is well drained. Water frequently to keep the soil consistently moist, and fertilize with a liquid feed every 2 to 4 weeks after the first flowers appear.
As the flowers fade you can remove them to tidy the plant’s appearance and encourage new flowers to form. Mulching the roots will provide some protection for plants left in the ground over winter. In colder parts, the rhizomes can be dug up in the fall and stored in a cool, dry space until the following spring.
Pink Calla Lily Spacing
When given the right conditions, the Pink Calla Lily can grow to 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. A plant spacing of 18 inches will allow multiple plants to form a block of color for maximum impact.
