Growing Zones
Shiny Dancer Viburnum is the ideal evergreen shrub for your landscape. Instead of boxwood to use as a mass planting or as a border plant, ‘Shiny Dancer’ has incredibly glossy leaves that looked like they were waxed and polished to a high sheen! She has delicate white flowers that open from lime green to white and as an added bonus when autumn arrives with her cooler temperatures, the glossy leaves are tinged with red! The mounded growth makes her ideal for the garden. And as an added bonus, there are red berries in the fall.
Like all native viburnums, the cultivars have the best features for the home landscape. This viburnum is deer resistant, disease and insect resistant, a great pollinator plant and can be used for mass plantings in professional plantings or at home, in a container or as a border plant. Its compact size of just 3-5 ft. tall and wide is ideal for the smaller garden.
Shiny Dancer Viburnum Care
This viburnum prefers full to part sun, average watering after established and a slow release fertilizer for acid loving plants. Pruning Shiny Dancer Viburnum is almost never needed except for a broken or crossed branch. It blooms on old wood so if you do have to do any pruning, do it right after it finishes blooming.
Shiny Dancer Viburnum Spacing
Plant it on 4-6 ft. centers if you are planning on using it as a border or a mass planting. A large planter that is 24-30 inches wide would be ideal for putting it in a container.
