The Sunny Seduction Yarrow has larger, longer lasting blooms than other varieties. The heads of Sunny yellow flowers last the middle of summer until the first frosts, providing a bright spot in the garden when other perennials may have had enough of the heat. The silvery green foliage makes a nice contrast to large leaved plants in the garden. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the nectar, but deer and rabbits rarely give Yarrow a second look.

Sunny Seduction Yarrow makes a long-lasting cut flower and dries beautifully for fall and winter arranging. Yarrow works as a filler in either flower arrangements or mixed container plantings. Yarrow is drought tolerant after it is established and is recommended for use in firewise landscaping.

Sunny Seduction Yarrow Care

Yarrow works wonderfully in xeriscape plans or at the edges and transition areas of a rain garden plan. The soil requirements are not very exact. Well drained to dry soil. The pH of the soil can be 6.0-8.0. The range of hardiness zones is from 3 to 8 and is a herbaceous perennial that does not set many seeds.

Sunny Seduction is very low maintenance, requiring only the old growth to be cut back early in the spring. This gives wildlife a chance to use the plant stems as shelter over the winter and helps to protect the crown of the plant during the winter in the coldest of the hardiness zones. More blooms are encouraged by doing a cutback of the first flush of blooms early in the summer. Cutting the flower stems back by at least half the height will encourage more branching and another flush of blooms.

Sunny Seduction Yarrow Spacing

Yarrow makes tight clumps of basal leaves from which the bloom stems grow out of. The bloom shoots will be 24-36 inches tall and the overall plant will have a spread of 24-36 inches. Spacing of these lovely bloomers can be quite close. 24 inches, center on center, will provide a dense planting that will fill in any spot quickly. Yarrow looks best when it is planted in groups of 3 or 5 or in larger mass plantings.
