Enjoy lovely, long-lasting flowers in a bold color with the Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia. This petunia hybrid is a fast grower that is easy to maintain. Bell-shaped flowers are a deep, velvety purple and bloom from planting until fall. Flowers grow along trailing stems dotted with small, green foliage. Pollinators enjoy the blooms and will enliven your garden with movement and beauty.

Feature the Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia in borders, mixed beds, or containers. The trailing stems make an excellent ground cover or will fill the role of filler in a container. The trailing stems look beautiful in a hanging basket or window box. This hybrid requires minimal care and can thrive in the heat of summer and dry conditions. The Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia is an annual in most areas, but this plant does grow as a perennial in zones 10 and 11.

Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia Care

This beauty needs rich soil that is moist and well drained. Water when the top few inches of soil are dry. Potted plants need water as often as daily, depending on the conditions. Feed the plant using a balanced fertilizer when planting and at midsummer to encourage new growth and abundant flowers. The Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia does best in areas that receive 4 to 6 hours of sunlight.

This plant has a mounded growth habit. Let the stems trail or pinch back new growth if you want to encourage a more compact and bushy look. The plant may look leggy or straggly partway through the growing season, so trim back the growth by one-third. Follow up a rejuvenating cut with an application of fertilizer to promote new growth. Container-grown plants can be cut back in the fall and moved indoors before the weather turns cold.

Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia Spacing

The Supertunia Mini Vista® Midnight Petunia will grow 6 to 12 inches tall and spread or trail 18 to 24 inches. Plant 4 to 5 of these Petunia hybrids in a large container or space plants in a bed or border 12 to 18 inches apart.
