Growing Zones
Turn one planting hole into a mini-orchard. This space-saving tree carries three distinct apple varieties grafted onto a single trunk, giving you a built-in pollination team, staggered ripening, and a mix of flavors for fresh eating, baking, and juice—all from one tree. While exact combinations vary, you’ll receive three of the following: Honeycrisp, Haralred, Zestar, Honeygold, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Gala. Expect showy spring bloom, glossy summer foliage, and a long, satisfying harvest season.
3-in-1 Apple Tree Care
Plant in full sun (6–8+ hours) with well-drained soil and a slightly acidic to neutral pH (about 6.0–7.0). Water deeply and regularly the first 1–2 seasons to establish; thereafter, irrigate during dry spells—especially from bloom through fruit fill.
Mulch 2–3 inches over the root zone (keep mulch a few inches off the trunk). Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer; avoid heavy summer nitrogen. Prune in late winter to an open, airy structure and, importantly, balance the grafts: lightly head back the most vigorous branch and encourage weaker grafts to catch up; remove any shoots emerging below the graft union.
Thin fruit at marble size to one apple every 6–8 inches for better size and branch health. Bees handle pollination—avoid spraying insecticides during bloom. Typical hardiness is roughly USDA Zones 4–8 (check local suitability by variety).
3-in-1 Apple Tree Spacing
Spacing depends on rootstock. As a general guide: dwarf 8–12 ft apart, semi-dwarf 12–16 ft, standard 18–20 ft; keep rows 14–20 ft apart for access and airflow. For a single specimen near patios or fences, allow at least 6–8 ft of clearance on all sides to accommodate the mixed canopy. Dwarf trees can be grown in large containers (20–24"+ diameter) with diligent watering and annual root/branch pruning.
