Enjoy beautiful delicate flowers that bloom in clusters on top of tall stems all season long, thanks to the Americana® Rose Ice Zonal Geranium. The 5-petal, rose-colored flowers of the Pelargonium zonale continuously bloom from planting until frost. This plant is relatively low maintenance but routinely deadhead the spent blooms to promote more flowers and keep it looking full and lush. The glossy green foliage provides a lovely contrast against the stunning flowers.
Use this upright thriller in borders or landscapes where the flowers will be on display. This Zonal Geranium makes an excellent container plant used as a patio table centerpiece or in a hanging basket. This plant is drought- and heat-tolerant, so it can easily take on intense summer weather while still providing a bright burst of color.
Americana® Rose Ice Zonal Geranium Care
Plant the Americana® Rose Ice Zonal Geranium in part to full sun. This plant prefers soil that is fertile, slightly acidic, and well-draining. Let the soil dry out before watering to encourage more prolific blooming, but do not wait too long so that flowers start to drop. Zonal Geraniums are not heavy feeders, but container-grown plants will benefit from applying a balanced fertilizer every 2 to 4 weeks.
Bring this plant indoors during the winter. Trim back the growth and place this Geranium in a sunny window. Water when the soil is dry and continue to fertilize the plant if it is actively growing.
Americana® Rose Ice Zonal Geranium Spacing
The Americana® Rose Ice Zonal Geranium is a medium-sized plant that will grow 14 to 16 inches tall and wide. Plants can be spaced 14 to 16 inches apart when used in a landscape or plant 3 to 4 in a 10- to 12-inch container.
