The Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave is an easy-care succulent with a showy and sophisticated form. Symmetrical foliage grows in a rosette and has a smokey purple hue. Increased sunlight brings out more pronounced purple tones along the leaves. Tiny white spines provide added color and texture. Each leaf is broad near the center and drastically narrows to a point, lending the plant a sculptural look.
The showy good looks of the Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave allow this plant to serve as a specimen. Create a one-of-a-kind border or use it in a rock garden or xeriscaped space. Mangaves work well as a thriller in a container. This Mangave hybrid is a North American native and a heat- and drought-tolerant succulent, ensuring this plant will thrive without much attention. Foragers like deer and rabbits leave the thick, fleshy foliage alone.
Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave Care
Plant Mangaves in full sun and use a sandy soil that promotes excellent drainage. The Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave cannot tolerate wet feet, so drainage is essential. Water every few weeks depending on rainfall. Container-grown plants have increased water needs, but prefer to dry out before getting water. Mangaves are not heavy feeders, but an annual light dose of fertilizer each spring will support new growth.
The Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave grows as a perennial in zones 8 through 10 but is featured as an annual in most areas. Remove the plant in the fall or transition it to a protected indoor location for the winter.
Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave Spacing
Art & Sol™ Lavender Lady Mangave is a stately plant that stands 8 to 10 inches tall and 12 to 16 inches wide. Space plants 12 to 16 inches apart to create a consistent planting.
