‘Barbie Pink’ Guava packs tropical flavor and color into a compact, easygoing fruit tree. Glossy evergreen leaves frame blush-pink, aromatic fruit that’s delicious straight from the branch and equally at home in smoothies, jams, and desserts.

Grow it in the ground for a steady summer-to-fall harvest, or keep it in a pot on a sunny patio for a lush, exotic look year-round. This variety is naturally tidy, productive at a young age, and happy in warm climates or protected container setups.

‘Barbie Pink’ Guava Care

Place in full sun with 6–8+ hours of direct light for best flowering and fruit set. Plant in well-drained soil enriched with compost; slightly acidic to neutral pH 5.8–7.0 is ideal. Water deeply when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry; in heat, expect 1–2 thorough soakings per week for in-ground trees and more frequent checks for containers.

Mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch a few inches away from the trunk. Feed monthly in spring through early fall with a balanced, slow-release fruit tree fertilizer (for example 6-4-6 with micronutrients); pause feeding in winter.

Prune lightly in late winter to shape and open the canopy, then tip-prune after harvest to encourage new fruiting wood. Self-fruitful, though a second guava can boost yields. Typical harvest runs late summer into fall depending on climate. Best in Zones 9–11; in cooler regions, grow in a container you can move indoors before nights drop below 40°F (4°C). If your plant is grafted, remove any suckers that emerge below the graft.

‘Barbie Pink’ Guava Spacing

For a specimen, allow 8–12 feet of width and plant 8–10 feet from walls or other trees for airflow and sun. For a loose fruiting hedge, space 6–8 feet on center and maintain at 6–8 feet tall with annual pruning. Keep 3–4 feet back from paths for comfortable clearance.

In containers, start with a 16–20 inch wide pot (7–10 gallons) with drainage; upsize to 20–24 inches (15–25 gallons) as the tree matures. Position pots 2–3 feet from a south-facing wall or bright window for reflected warmth; stake only the first season in windy sites.

Why Grow ‘Barbie Pink’ Guava?

  • Rich, rosy flesh with classic tropical sweetness for fresh eating, juices, and preserves.

  • Compact habit that thrives in containers or small gardens without sprawling.

  • Evergreen foliage and periodic blooms provide year-round visual appeal.

  • Low-fuss care with reliable productivity and self-pollinating flowers.

Bring home a tree that tastes like vacation and looks like it too. Add ‘Barbie Pink’ Guava to your space and enjoy homegrown, candy-sweet fruit from a beautiful, compact tree.

Guide: How to Care for Your New Plant(s)

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
