Enjoy the colors of the sunset at any time of day with this lovely combination of flowering beauties. These low-maintenance plants start to bloom in the spring and will continue to display striking flowers throughout the summer and into the fall. The Superbena® Peachy Keen has petite peach-colored flowers with dark green foliage. The Supertunia® Honey™ is a Petunia hybrid that boasts medium-sized trumpet-shaped yellow blooms with hints of peach. Lastly, the Superbells® Coralina displays red flowers with a yellow throat.

These plants all have a mounding, trailing growth habit. The stems can be cut back to promote more branching and blooming or let them grow and spread to enjoy long, trailing stems.  The plants in this trio all attract pollinators, so place them near a window or in a visible spot so you can admire the flowers, as well as the bees and hummingbirds that will drop by.

Beach Sunset Container Garden Combo Care

These three plants can comfortably live together in a 10-inch container. The plants can also be used as a filler in other containers or window boxes. Place the plants in a spot that receives at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. These continuous bloomers need lots of light to push out gorgeous blooms. Soil should be rich, slightly acidic, and well-draining. Water the plants when the top couple of inches of soil is dry.

Deadhead the plants to keep them looking good and promote more growth. The plants may start to look leggy by midsummer, so cut them back by ⅓ to rejuvenate new growth. If you are a more hands-on gardener, you can routinely trim the plant throughout the growing season to maintain a full and compact look.

Beach Sunset Container Garden Combo Ideas

Brighten up a container or bed with this trio of coordinated mounded plants. Verbenas, Petunias, and Calibrachoas are all a natural fit for containers. Placing the plants up high creates an opportunity for these trailing beauties to do what they do best. However, these plants are versatile and can also do very well when grown as part of a mass planting in the ground. Routinely trim the plants to keep them more compact when grown in the ground.
