Bridal Veil Agapanthus Care

Give 6–8 hours of direct sun daily; in hotter inland sites, light afternoon shade helps blooms last longer. Plant in well-drained soil (sandy or loamy) with a pH of 6.0–7.5. Water regularly to establish, then water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry; containers may need more frequent checks in summer.

Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer, then lightly again after the first bloom cycle. Remove spent flower stalks at the base to tidy and encourage rebloom; clean up older leaves in late winter. Hardy in USDA zones 7–11; in colder areas, grow in containers and overwinter in a bright, frost-free spot.

Bridal Veil Agapanthus Spacing

For a single specimen, allow an 18–24 inch circle. For a low border or mass, set plants 12–16 inches on center so clumps knit without crowding. Keep at least 12 inches from paths and walls for leaf arch and airflow. In containers, use a 12–14 inch wide pot at least 10–12 inches deep with drainage; plant one per pot for best form and place in full sun with good airflow. Divide clumps every 3–4 years in early spring if they outgrow their space.
