The quintessential daisy form, this gorgeous selection is all butter and cream. Osteospermum Bright Lights Double Moonglow has a spectacular display of creamy outer petals surrounding a delicate frill of buttery yellow center petals from early summer to mid fall. For a sturdy mounding habit of flowers expect an excellent display of continuous, and long lasting blooms that will take the heat. Bright Lights Double Moonglow African Daisy will grow to approximately 18 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 24 inches.

Bright Lights Double Moonglow African Daisy is an herbaceous annual with medium texture in a mounded form. Heat tolerant and durable, Osteospermum Bright Lights™ Double Moonglow flowers are excellent for cutting. They are also a good selection for planting in both outdoor containers and hanging baskets. Often used as a 'filler', in their mounding form, they provide a mass of flowers to the arrangement. Spiny narrow leaves remain green in color throughout the season. They are a big hit with bees and butterflies and deer do not particularly care for them. They are also tolerant of urban pollution.

Bright Lights Double Moonglow African Daisy Care

Bright Lights is an easy-care, low maintenance plant. Deadheading is not necessary for this continuously blooming plant. Bright Lights Osteospermum requires well-drained soil and does not tolerate wet feet. Be sure to allow container soils to dry completely on the top before watering again. Bright Lights™ in garden beds require good drainage. You can trim your plants with pruning shears at any time to shape and encourage a new flush of blooms. Light requirements are partial to full sun and hardiness zones 9 – 11. A yearly application of slow-release fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular liquid fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best color and blooms.

Although not a true annual, this fast-growing plant can be expected to behave as annual and growth through winter, usually needing replacement the following year. Will not perform well indoors. Grow in the landscape as mass plantings, borders, in rock/alpine gardens and in containers or hanging baskets.

Bright Lights Double Moonglow African Daisy Spacing

When grown in masses or used as a bedding feature, plants should be spaced approximately 18 inches apart. Otherwise, spacing should be set at 6 – 10 inches apart in containers and hanging baskets. Another great feature is that the foliage remains dense right to the ground, so no other plants will be required up front.
