African Daisies (Osteospermum spp.) are beloved for their prolific daisy flowers that brighten gardens, patios and balconies with their bright, continuous bloom. Award-winning Bright Lights™ White African Daisy certainly lives up to its name with bright white flowers held upright for all to see and enjoy. These classic beauties bloom all summer long, until the first hard frost of fall. These are a long and continuous blooming favorite that look just as lovely in a container as they do in the garden bed.
Bright Lights™ White African Daisy grows up to 12” in height and spread, and has a mounded habit that makes it the perfect “filler” in combination container plantings. Use it to brighten any floral display or garden bed in part-to-full sun. Anyone with an eye for daisies will swoon for Bright Lights.
Bright Lights White African Daisy Care
Plant your White African Daisies in containers or garden beds that receive at least four hours of sunlight per day. Bright Lights Osteospermum do not like soggy soils, so allow the top 1-2” of soil to dry out between watering. Be sure that your garden bed or containers have good drainage before planting to discourage constantly wet conditions.
Deadheading is not necessary because these plants will quickly put out new flowers that cover the old ones. Ensure strong performance with regular, well-balanced fertilizing of potted plants and an annual application of compost or fertilizer in garden beds.
Bright Lights White African Daisy Spacing
These White African Daisies aren’t prolific spreaders, but they are prolific bloomers, so allow space to enjoy their many flowers. Plant 12” apart in the garden, and 8” apart in containers.
