Bring Me Sunshine™ English Shrub Rose forms large, densely petaled rosettes packed with warm yellow and orange tones that soften to apricot as they mature. The color shift gives it more dimension than standard yellow roses. At 4 feet tall and wide, this upright, bushy shrub fills its space with confident structure. The medium-strong myrrh fragrance carries notes of warm spice and resin, making it stand out from fruity or classic old-rose types.

David Austin introduced Bring Me Sunshine™ in 2022 and named it after the beloved Morecambe and Wise song. It reblooms in strong flushes and maintains healthy foliage through the season. Its rounded habit works in mixed borders, dedicated rose beds, or large patio containers. We like planting it where afternoon light catches the blooms so the tonal changes really show.

Bring Me Sunshine™ English Shrub Rose Care

Plant in full sun to partial sun for best color development. Choose soil that drains freely yet holds nutrients, ideally with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. Set the crown at grade in mild climates and slightly below soil level in colder regions. Water deeply, then allow the upper few inches of soil to dry before watering again to discourage shallow roots. Feed in early spring with a balanced rose fertilizer and repeat after the first heavy bloom cycle.

Prune in late winter as buds begin to swell. Remove older interior canes and shorten remaining stems by about one-third to keep the framework sturdy. During the season, clip spent blooms back to the first strong outward-facing leaf to encourage quicker rebloom. Apply mulch in early summer to stabilize soil temperature and reduce evaporation.

Bring Me Sunshine™ English Shrub Rose Spacing

Space plants 3½ to 4 feet apart to allow air movement and full development. For containers, select a pot at least 20–24 inches wide with excellent drainage. Pair with salvia for vertical contrast, dwarf fountain grass for texture, and coreopsis for extended color at the base.
