Bold red mophead flowers give the Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea its name and its striking good looks. This mounded form shrub blooms from late spring through fall for continuous color. Large flower clusters bloom on thick stems that also feature wide glossy leaves with pronounced veining and serrated edges. This is an easy-care perennial that provides dependable color throughout the summer.

This shrub has a naturally rounded shape and will be about 2 to 3 feet wide and tall once mature, making it a great size to create a low hedge or conceal a foundation wall. Feature this stunner in a mixed perennial bed for a burst of color. The flowers can be cut to use in arrangements or dried for long-lasting use. This beauty will also attract pollinators like butterflies. The Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea grows as a perennial in USDA zones 5 through 9.

Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea Care

Plant in partial sun or an area that receives 3 to 4 hours of sunlight. A spot that receives morning light and shade during the afternoon is ideal. Plant in rich, moist but well-drained soil. The Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea is not picky about soil pH. This plant has medium water needs, so give it a drink when the top several inches of soil dry out.

Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer to support new growth and plenty of blooms in the spring. Deadhead the plant to encourage more prolific blooming.

Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea Spacing

The Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea will grow 2 to 3 feet tall and wide. Plants can be spaced 1 to 2 feet apart for a full and dense look.

The plants arrived in great shape. The Plant Addicts packaging was very secure and UPS did a great job in their handling/shipping of the merchandise. The plants arrived healthy and were planted the next day.

    The poor thing didn’t travel...

Posted by Jane Foran on Aug 06, 2023

This is supposed to be a plant with red flowers. I let them know I’d be away a certain number of days so they packed and held the order but shipped it a week later. It was in transit for quite a while and arrived battered and broken but alive. We planted it and nurses it but most of the flowers were already dying and soon they were all done so I’m not even sure if they’re red or fuschia. My $20 Home Depot hydrangeas look better than this. It’s a small healthy pile of leaves and sticks now so I’ll have to wait to see how it does for the fall and for next year. Not worth the price.

This was given as a gift. The gentleman who got it was very pleased. His favorite plant in his yard was a white hydrangea. The red hydrangea is now his favorite. The plant is stunning.

    Plant order

Posted by Hank on Jun 30, 2023

Ordered 3 cherry go round hydrangeas. They arrived in 6 days time and were very well packaged. There were a few broken stems, but to be honest that’s to be expected when shipping suck large sized plants. The plants arrived healthy and were planted next day. So far so good. I would not hesitate to order again.

    Cherry Blossom...

Posted by Amanda Poncil on Jun 10, 2023

Shipped quick and we’ll packaged. One hydrangea arrived thriving the other not so much. It was planted on the side of the pot and very fragile so much that many of the leaves fell of while trying to removed from the plastic bag and plant. I’m hoping with a little TLC IT can be brought back to life. With that said I’m happy to have found red hydrangeas and hopeful to see how they’ll grow since they have been planted. I will probably still order in the future but maybe not two of the same plant.
