This tall, upright coleus sports beautiful chartreuse foliage with gorgeous red veins that provide a striking color combination all year-round. Growing up to 24 to 40 inches tall and 18 to 36 inches wide, Colorblaze® Golden Dreams is the perfect thriller selection for container planting. Coleus have been long favored for their foliage, Colorblaze® Golden Dreams doesn’t flower until late summer or early fall, which helps the plant look attractive even longer into the growing season.

Golden Dreams Coleus has uniquely shaped foliage that stands out in the landscape and provides great texture with bold, long-lasting color. Performs best in full sun but can handle shade and prefers high humidity climates. This heat resistant, deer tolerant annual is a great addition to any garden or landscape. Use in mass plantings as a border plant or in container plantings.

ColorBlaze Golden Dreams Coleus Care

Solenostemon Colorblaze Golden Dreams grows best in well-drained soils in USDA hardiness zones 10 – 11. Colorblaze® Golden Dreams is considered a low-maintenance plant. Coleus is prized for its gorgeous foliage and although these do eventually flower, they do so very late in the season. Flowers can be pinched off down one full leaf set below the flower spike to control height and keep plants compact. However, left to flower, Colorblaze® Golden Dreams is great for attracting pollinators. Does not require deadheading, but does benefit from a late summer pruning or quick trim to keep plants compact. Performs best in well-drained soils and is considered an average water use plant. A yearly application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular liquid fertilizer of potted plants will keep plants looking great year-round.

Grown as an herbaceous annual in zones 10-11 Colorblaze® Golden Dreams can live through mild winters and continue on with its colorful chartreuse and red veined foliage year round. Plants grown in containers should get adequate sun for best performance. Plants can be brought indoors for overwintering and placed in bright areas with adequate humidity. Greatly reduce watering when moved indoors.

ColorBlaze Golden Dreams Coleus Spacing

Plant 18 – 24 inches apart in containers and hanging baskets. For garden beds and grown in mass, plants should be spaced approximately 18 - 20 inches apart. When grown in mass or used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 20 inches apart.
