Plant in well-drained but moisture-retentive soil enriched with compost; target pH 6.0–7.5. Water regularly to establish, then keep evenly moist during heat; avoid letting soil bone-dry for extended periods.

Mulch 1–2 inches to moderate moisture and temperature, keeping mulch off the crown. Feed lightly in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer or a thin compost top-dress. Groom by removing any winter-tired blades in late winter to early spring. Hardy in USDA zones 5–9; in colder zones, grow in containers and overwinter in a protected, frost-free spot.
