Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot (Catharanthus roseus) is one outstanding vinca! With its trailing habit, prolific large white flowers on glossy green lush foliage, this vinca is a step above the rest! A short growing annual at only 6 to 8 inches in height it spreads to 32 to 36 wide it is ideal for use as a groundcover and spiller in container plantings. Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot has non-stop, long-lasting blooms that never seem to fade from planting to the first freeze.
Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot can handle the heat and drought in addition to humidity. It is resistant to aerial phytophthora. It’s mounded, trailing growth habit makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, window boxes, and containers as a spiller. It attracts butterflies and other pollinators alike with its colorful flowers. Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot is an excellent selection for use as a groundcover in large landscape beds. Large, high quality flowers completely cover plants creating blankets of color that last the entire growing season.
Cora Cascade Polka Dot Vinca Care
This is one carefree annual, growing best in full to partial sun in hardiness zones 9 – 11. Performs best in full sun in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. Plant after the danger of frost thru summer. No deadheading or pruning required unless to clear dieback. Slow-release fertilizer or compost applied to garden beds and regular water-soluble fertilization of potted plants will greatly enhance growth and performance.
In warm climates with mild winters, Vinca Cora Cascade Polka Dot performs as a tender perennial. Flowers are continuous with sufficient sunlight. If grown in containers on patios or porches be sure to provide full sun for a minimum of 6 hours for optimum bloom density.

This plant is perfect for hanging baskets and containers! Spacing should be 23 – 25 inches. In mass plantings space at approximately 30 inch centers.
