For blemish-free delicious radishes, why not try the Crunchy King Radish? You can sow it early or late in the season, and it produces thick top foliage that will help inhibit the weeds. Developing perfectly round and red radishes with a pure white center, ‘Crunchy King’ is even slow to develop pith. It matures in 23 days.

Crunchy King Radish Care

For a continuous crop, you can sow/plant Crunchy King Radish in succession from the spring onwards. Sow seeds in full sun or partial shade, half an inch deep and one inch apart in fertile soil. If growing more than one row, you can space them 6 to 8 inches apart. Once germinated, thin the seedlings so they are 1 to 2 inches apart. Provide consistent moisture to prevent the soil from drying out.

Growing Crunchy King Radish Plant

You can harvest Crunchy King Radish 23 days from planting. Choose a sunny location with ideally 6+ hours of sunlight a day. You can start sowing as soon as the ground becomes workable and continue to sow every week or two for a continuous crop. Thinning the seedlings will help plants develop perfectly sized radishes.

Crunchy King Radish is well suited to growing in a container as long as it gets enough moisture and sunlight. Plant it in a deep trough or pot using a fertile compost mix.

Watering Crunchy King Radish Plant

Radishes thrive when given a consistent supply of water. Avoid letting the soil dry out as this can lead to bolting and a poor taste.

Feeding Crunchy King Radish Plant

When grown in fertile soil, radishes do not generally need any supplementary fertilizer. If your soil is poor, you can enrich it before planting by adding some garden or multi-purpose compost.
