Create a ray of sunshine on your deck or patio with the Crushed Pineapple Container Garden. These coordinated plants are easy to care for and bloom all season long in vibrant shades of golden yellow and white. Flowers emerge in the spring, and the plants continue to bloom through the summer and into the fall.

Each of these plants has a mounding and trailing growth habit, so they grow to be very full, and the flowering branches will reach out. This striking combination of plants is very well suited to summer weather and can handle warm temperatures and dry conditions, although they will need routine watering when grown in containers. For added convenience, pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds are naturally drawn to these plants.

Crushed Pineapple Container Garden Combo Care

Group these plants into a single 10-inch container to create a stunning combination planting. These plants can also be used as a filler or spiller in other plantings or containers. If planted separately, try to group the containers nearby to create a coordinated and cohesive look.

Place these plants in full to part sun to help them thrive. Water when the top couple of inches of soil dries out. Depending on the amount of sunlight and rainfall, these plants will typically need water 2 to 3 times per week. Soil should be slightly acidic, rich, and allow drainage. Fertilize the plants every other week using balanced, water-soluble plant food. Remove spent flowers and trim the plants back to maintain a full look and prevent the stems from becoming leggy.

Crushed Pineapple Container Garden Combo Ideas

Plant these beauties together in a window box or hanging basket. These plants can also be used in a container to create a living centerpiece on a patio table. Due to their trailing tendencies, these plants are a good fit for a hanging basket, but they also look striking when trimmed back to create a more compact and lush form. Calibrachoas require very well-draining soil, so these plants tend to do best in containers, but Petunias can also be used in landscapes and mass plantings.
