Best Plants for CUBE Glossy
CUBE Glossy works beautifully with store-bought kitchen herbs and compact indoor houseplants that prefer relatively consistent moisture.
- Basil: A convenient kitchen herb that benefits from bright light and regular moisture.
- Parsley: Attractive edible foliage for a sunny kitchen location.
- Mint: Grow fresh mint indoors for beverages and cooking.
- Fittonia: Colorful patterned foliage that appreciates consistent moisture.
- Small Pothos: Easy-care trailing greenery for shelves and indoor displays.
- Peperomia: Compact decorative foliage, with watering adjusted to the variety's needs.
Planting Tip: Choose plants that appreciate consistent but not saturated growing conditions. Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and thyme often prefer a drier root environment, so use extra care when growing them with a wick irrigation system.
How the Wick Irrigation System Works
CUBE Glossy features a convenient wick irrigation system designed to work with your plant's original nursery pot. The wick transports moisture from the reservoir to the potting mix, helping reduce frequent manual watering.
Easy Setup - No Repotting Required
- Choose Your Plant: Select a houseplant or herb in a compatible nursery grow pot with bottom drainage openings.
- Insert the Wick: Insert the included watering wick into the bottom of the nursery pot according to LECHUZA's instructions.
- Position the Plant: Place the nursery pot into the irrigation insert and decorative outer planter.
- Fill the Reservoir: Add water according to the water level indicator and manufacturer's directions.
- Monitor Your Plant: Check the growing medium periodically and refill according to your plant's moisture requirements.
Watering Tip: The water reservoir helps reduce watering frequency but does not eliminate the possibility of excess moisture. Check plant conditions regularly and avoid continually saturating roots.
Convenient Replacement Watering Wicks
Your CUBE Glossy includes the wick required for initial use. LECHUZA replacement watering sticks are available separately if you need a spare or replacement.
No Extra PON Required: Unlike larger LECHUZA planters, CUBE Glossy uses wick irrigation with the plant's original nursery pot and growing medium. It does not require a separate LECHUZA-PON drainage layer for its standard setup.
