Guide: How to Care for Your New Plant(s)

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.

Plants Included In Do You Lilac It Annual Combination

A veritable powerhouse of purple, white, blue and lilac blooms with super velvety colors, neat pin stripes and dainty frills, do you lilac it? Deep color, pattern, and texture contrasts create a beautiful display that will quickly become the conversation piece on your porch or patio. No moody blues here!

The perfect combination of color, form and texture is also the perfect combination of species as petunia and verbena pair wonderfully together. Sun loving, heat tolerance, vigorous growth, trailing habit, and strong disease resistance make these annuals a perfect complement to each other. Both plants’ native home environment is very similar so your care and maintenance of these lovely annuals just got simpler.

Do You Lilac It Annual Combination Care

It comes down to the soil. Good quality, well draining, organic compost rich soil will be your best friend when it comes to growing petunias and verbena together. Use the compost rich soil to give the plants the boost they need to get established, then follow up with a water soluble fertilizer once a week or so to keep the vigorous growth green and lush. Full sun with some afternoon shade will assist the plants with the energy they need to provide the myriads of blooms all season long. Both plants will benefit from a regular watering routine, wait until the top two inches of the soil is dry to prevent overwatering and prevent root rot.

When purchasing the 4 ¼ inch pot size plants, choose the appropriate 12 inch diameter hanging basket or patio container. Space plants up to 12 inches apart. The larger plants will require a larger container so plan accordingly. You will be amazed at how quickly your plants will fill your container in a very short period of time and how beautiful they will become. Deadheading is not necessary as both plants will drop their spent blossoms, but a mid season trim is not out of the question for these vigorous growing annuals and will give you a nice refresh, promote more branching and subsequently more flower production in about a week or so.

Do You Lilac It Annual Combination Ideas

All three varieties of annuals are ambitious trailing plants that will grow up a little and then spill over the sides of the planter to varying lengths. They are ideally suited to a hanging basket or patio container, but you may want to try your hand at brightening up your landscape with these lovely annuals. Some tips to remember: location, location, location...sunlight of at least 4 to 6 hours a day, and fast draining soil to keep roots from becoming waterlogged are what you need to quickly fill your garden bed or landscape borders with beautiful color.
