Feature
Small footprint, big chill. Dwarf Tiny Tank brings the classic toughness of the cast iron plant to shelves, desks, and tight corners—compact, deep-green leaves with creamy speckles (on many plants) deliver a tidy, architectural look where other houseplants struggle. It’s slow growing, shade tolerant, and famously forgiving—perfect for low-light rooms and busy schedules.
Dwarf Tiny Tank Cast Iron Plant Care
Give bright to low indirect light; it’s one of the few houseplants that stays handsome several feet from a window, and it also thrives under office lighting. Avoid hot, direct sun that can scorch leaves. Use a well-draining potting mix (all-purpose soil cut with bark/perlite works well) and a pot with drainage.
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry—this plant prefers to dry slightly between waterings. In winter, stretch the interval. Feed lightly in spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer every 6–8 weeks. Normal home humidity is fine, and temperatures from 60–85°F keep growth steady.
Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and prevent dulling. Repot only every 2–3 years or when roots fill the pot; cast iron plants like to be a bit snug.
Placement & Potting (Indoors)
As a desk or shelf accent, a 6–8" pot is ideal; for floor displays, choose a 10–12" container with a simple silhouette that highlights the foliage. Leave 6–12 inches of “elbow room” around the plant so the leaves can arch cleanly and to make watering easy.
In low-light hallways or bedrooms, position within 6–10 feet of a window; in brighter rooms, set it back from direct rays or filter with sheer curtains.
