For a great-tasting paste tomato, the Early Resilience Tomato will have the store cupboard full in no time. Producing large roma tomatoes with an excellent flavor, this cultivar is perfect for drying, making sauces and pastes, and even eating fresh. With harvestable fruits in 110-115 days, this determinate tomato plant keeps a compact bush habit and has good disease resistance, especially against blossom end rot.
Early Resilience Tomato Plant Care
Tomatoes are sun- and heat-loving plants that can be grown outside or in a greenhouse during the summer. Being a tender edible, the Early Resilience Tomato should not be planted out until all risk of frost has passed and temperatures have risen suitably. As a heavy feeder, this plant requires fertile, free-draining soil and adequate moisture throughout the growing season.
Growing Early Resilience Tomato Plant
The Early Resilience Tomato Plant wants as much sun as it can get and is happiest when planted in a south- or west-facing, sheltered spot. To grow from seed, sow indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last frost, as germination requires warmth. If grown in the right conditions, this tomato plant will produce fruits ready to pick in around 110 days from sowing.
For container growing, plant Early Resilience using fresh compost and a pot of at least 18 inches wide with adequate drainage holes. Tomatoes grown in pots or planters will require watering more frequently than those grown in the ground.
Watering Early Resilience Tomato Plant
Water this tomato regularly with the aim to keep the soil moist, but not wet. When watering, water at the base of the plant, avoiding the foliage.
Feeding Early Resilience Tomato Plant
As hungry feeders, tomatoes benefit from being fertilized when planted out and when forming flowers and fruit. A specific tomato fertilizer is recommended to encourage a bumper harvest.
