Need a little light in a shady garden nook? Skip the lanterns and opt for the vibrant stars of the Endless Illumination® bush violet. Deep-blue star-shaped flowers burst into bloom all season long atop the deep green foliage. This profuse bloomer is a favorite for gardeners looking to brighten up a shady space with a pop of eye catching color. The constant brilliant blue flowers never let you down, and garner compliments from visitors.
You simply can’t go wrong with a shady planting of this Browallia hybrid. Plant them with nearly any other shade-loving, blooming annual for a colorful combination planting or next to shade-loving foliage plants to provide some visual impact. A mounding growth habit makes the bush violet brilliant “filler” in container plantings, baskets and garden spaces that need a kick of color. Give mass planting a go with Endless Illumination® between foliage plants in a shade garden. You’ll love the pop of deep blue color next to the green.
Endless Illumination Bush Violet Care
Endless Illumination® is a prolific bloomer and vigorous grower with very few care requirements. In fact, it’s best to forget about fertilizing it and simply keep it watered. Keep the soil evenly moist, watering only when the top inch of soil is dry.
Deadheading is not necessary for continuous bloom. Avoid placing this shade-loving beauty in the sun, and avoid over fertilizing.
Endless Illumination Bush Violet Spacing
While you will likely see vigorous growth until the first frost of fall, Endless Illumination® is not known for smothering its neighbors and has a neat mounded habit. The maximum space you’ll need between plants in the ground is 10”. Plant them closer together in containers, with at least 4” between plants.
