Bring crisp texture and carefree color to sunny spaces with Evolution Emerald Ice Sedum. Compact rosettes knit into a tidy mat, showing cool green leaves edged in pale tones that brighten paths, rockeries, and patio pots. When late summer arrives, airy clusters of soft pink flowers add a cheerful lift and invite pollinators.
Tough by design, it stays neat through heat and dry spells where other plants struggle. Use it to soften stone, spill over low walls, or weave between stepping stones for year-round interest with almost no upkeep.
Evolution Emerald Ice Sedum Care
Give 6 or more hours of direct sun for best color and densest growth. Plant in sharply drained soil; sandy or gravelly mixes are ideal with a pH around 6.0–7.5. Water regularly the first 2–3 weeks to establish, then water only when the top 1–2 inches are dry; avoid soggy conditions. Feed lightly in spring with a low-nitrogen, slow-release fertilizer or a compost top-dress.
Shear lightly after flowering to refresh the carpet, and clean up any winter-tired stems in early spring. Hardy in USDA zones 3–9; in rainy, humid climates, raise beds or use gritty substrates to prevent rot. Suitable for containers with a cactus/succulent potting mix and excellent drainage.
Evolution Emerald Ice Sedum Spacing
For a single specimen or accent, allow a 12–18 inch circle. For a continuous groundcover, set plants 10–12 inches on center. Keep 6–8 inches back from path edges to allow natural spread without overhang. In containers, use an 8–10 inch wide, shallow pot with drainage; place near the pot’s rim for a pleasing cascade over time. No staking or trellising needed.
