Feature
The First Diamond Aglaonema or Chinese Evergreen First Diamond as it is sometimes called, is an easy-to-grow houseplant with attractive and detailed foliage. Able to tolerate most light levels, this plant can be grown in almost any room and produces stunning green and almost-white patterned leaves. Originating from subtropical parts of Asia, the First Diamond Aglaonema likes to be kept warm and away from any cold, drafty spots. Being easy to look after, it is a great starter houseplant to try growing.
Best Locations For Growing First Diamond Aglaonema
The First Diamond Aglaonema will grow in any indoor room. However, preferring moderate to high humidity levels, it is ideal for growing in a bathroom or kitchen.
First Diamond Aglaonema Sunlight Requirements
This aglaonema can tolerate low to bright light, just don’t let it receive harsh direct sunlight, which can harm the foliage. Brighter light levels will help encourage strong and lush growth.
First Diamond Aglaonema Plant Care
Preferring higher humidity levels, this plant will benefit from being placed on a wet pebble tray and being misted regularly. Native to subtropical areas, it is no surprise that this plant likes to be kept at 65 to 80 °F. If any leaves appear to dry out or die back, they can simply be removed by cutting at the base of the stem using a pair of sanitized and sharp scissors.
Watering First Diamond Aglaonema
The First Diamond Aglaonema prefers to be kept moist; a weekly watering is generally sufficient during the warmer months. If you are unsure when to water this aglaonema, waiting until the top inch of soil has dried out before watering next can be a good guide. During winter, watering can be reduced, which will help avoid root rot.
Feeding First Diamond Aglaonema
Feeding the First Diamond Aglaonema monthly with a balanced houseplant fertilizer from spring until fall can help promote lush foliage and strong growth.
