Petunias are prolific bloomers that do well with very little care. The Fun House™ Potpourri Petunia takes things to the next level by offering everything gardeners already love about Petunias plus striking bicolor flowers. The yellow trumpet-shaped blooms are edged in magenta and feature a dark pink-colored eye. This beauty blooms from spring through summer, so you will have plenty of time to marvel at the flowers. The flowers are offset by green oblong leaves that come to a gentle point.
The mounded growth habit of the Fun House™ Potpourri Petunia makes this plant a wonderful option for containers, particularly hanging baskets. The stems will just barely spill over the edge of the pot, putting the striking, bicolor blooms on display. The flowers and the plentiful foliage create a lush look that easily fills a container. Petunias are also well suited to use in landscapes or borders, so feature them in a flower bed in a high-traffic area so everyone who passes by can admire the flowers.
Fun House™ Potpourri Petunia Care
Petunia like lots of sunlight, so place this plant in a spot that receives at least 6 hours of direct light. Select a site with morning light and afternoon shade in areas that receive intense afternoon sun. This plant is not very picky about the soil, but fertile, slightly acidic soil with good drainage is ideal. Too much water may make the plant leggy, but not enough will limit flower production, so give the plant a drink when the top couple of inches of soil are dry. Deadhead the plant to keep it looking amazing but also to help encourage more blooms. With proper care and favorable weather, it is possible to stretch the blooming season into fall. Feed the plant every few weeks using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Petunias are typically grown as annuals, and the plants will die back after the first frost; however, these plants can be grown indoors during the winter. Cut back the growth, place the plant in a sunny window, and water when the top few inches of soil are dry. The plant may not need as much water if it is not actively growing, so monitor growth and water as needed.
Fun House™ Potpourri Petunia Spacing
Fun House™ Potpourri Petunias grown in landscapes and borders can be spaced 16 to 20 inches apart, while a 10- to 12-inch container is large enough for 3 to 4 plants. Mature plants will be 10 to 14 inches tall and 18 to 22 inches wide.
