For a scented light pink English shrub rose, you will be hard-pressed to beat the Gentle Hermione English Rose. Bred by David Austin, Gentle Hermione produces perfect shallow cups in shades of light pink. What is more, the blooms are strongly scented with a warming myrrh fragrance. Medium-sized, Gentle Hermione grows to around 4 feet tall.

The Gentle Hermione English Rose develops slightly arching stems that are covered with lush green leaves. Introduced in 2005, this rose is a repeat bloomer and hardy in zones 5 to 11. Gentle Hermione looks stunning in a mixed border or foundation planting. The scented blooms make for a wonderful cut flower.

Gentle Hermione English Rose Care

The Gentle Hermione English Rose performs best when grown in full sun. It thrives in a rich and loamy soil with good drainage. Frequent watering is required during the growing season to keep the soil moist, but not overly wet. To help maintain plant health and encourage the best blooms, apply a rose-specific fertilizer as directed.

Regular deadheading will encourage new buds and flowers to appear. Prune back stems by about one-third to an outward-facing bud in late winter.

Gentle Hermione English Rose Spacing

When fully grown, the Gentle Hermione English Rose can reach 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Space multiple specimens around 3 to 4 feet apart.
