Growing Zones
Glenn Mango Tree brings juicy, dessert-quality mangos to smaller spaces with a naturally compact, easy-to-manage habit. The fruit is fiberless and wonderfully sweet, with peachy, vanilla-coconut notes that taste like vacation in every bite.
Handsome, glossy foliage and golden spring bloom make it a looker even when it’s not fruiting. Grow it as a patio specimen in warm climates or in a large container you can protect in cooler regions. It’s self-fruitful, productive, and reliably delicious.
Glenn Mango Tree Care
Give Glenn Mango Tree full sun with 6–8+ hours of direct light daily. Plant in very well-drained soil enriched with compost; slightly acidic to neutral pH 5.8–7.2 is ideal. Water deeply when the top 2 inches of soil are dry; expect weekly soakings the first year, then water during prolonged dry spells and flowering/fruit swell.
Mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch a few inches off the trunk. Feed from early spring to mid-summer with a slow-release citrus/avocado or mango fertilizer that includes micronutrients; ease off nitrogen as flowering approaches to encourage fruit set.
Prune lightly after harvest to maintain height and open the canopy; tip-prune young shoots to keep the tree dense and productive. Self-pollinating. Typical harvest is late spring to mid-summer in warm climates.
Best outdoors in Zones 9b–11; in cooler areas, grow in a container and move indoors or to a greenhouse before nights drop below 40°F (4°C). If grafted, keep the graft union above soil level and remove any suckers below it. Promote airflow and avoid overhead watering to minimize fungal issues.
Glenn Mango Tree Spacing
For a specimen, allow 12–15 feet of width and plant 10–12 feet from walls, roofs, or other trees for sun and airflow. In small orchards, space 12–15 feet on center; tighter at 8–10 feet only if you plan annual size-control pruning. Keep 4–6 feet back from paths and driveways for comfortable clearance.
For containers, start with an 18–20 inch wide pot (10–15 gallons) with excellent drainage; upsize to 22–24 inches (20–25 gallons) as roots fill. Place containers in the sunniest, heat-reflective spot you have and provide a sturdy stake the first windy season.
