Golden Ring of Fire Philodendron, otherwise known as Henderson’s Pride and Philodendron ‘Ring of Fire Gold’, is a rare philodendron cultivar. This alleged cross between Philodendron wendlandii and Philodendron tortum made by a man named Henderson has long, variegated leaves that change colors throughout the year. These varying shades include beige, ivory, apricot, crimson, olive green, and emerald green. A relatively low maintenance, hardy perennial, Golden Ring of Fire is an ideal choice for any newbie gardener with minimal free time to spare.

Best Locations For Growing Gold Ring Of Fire Philodendron

Provide your plant with bright indirect light, temperatures ranging between 60°F to 80°F, and humidity levels ranging between 50% to 60%. Gold Ring of Fire Philodendron is toxic to dogs and cats and should be placed out of reach of pets.

Gold Ring Of Fire Philodendron Sunlight Requirements

Gold Ring of Fire Philodendron prefers bright indirect light. While this topical evergreen can also survive periods of low light, its leaves can lose their multi-colored brilliance. A south-facing, west-facing or east-facing window should provide plenty of light to keep this plant happy.

Gold Ring Of Fire Philodendron Care

This Philodendron prefers slightly acidic and well-draining soil. An ideal pH range to aim for is 5.0-6.0. This slow-growing perennial should be repotted everytime the plant doubles in size, which normally happens about every 3 years. And if you would like more copies of your Gold Ring of Fire Philodendron, you can propagate this lovely tropical using stem cuttings.

Watering Gold Ring Of Fire Philodendron

Water Gold Ring of Fire when the top third of the soil dries out. During the spring and summer months, you will normally need to water your Gold Ring of Fire Philodendron about once every 10 days or so. During the dormant months, however, you will not have to water as frequently.

Feeding Gold Ring Of Fire Philodendron

During spring and summer, feed Gold Ring of Fire Philodendron a typical balanced fertilizer approximately one time per month.
