Golden Bell Sweet Pepper plant is an excellent addition to your vegetable garden and produces loads of gorgeous, delicious, yellow fruit! Golden Bell Sweet Peppers mature from green to golden yellow in late summer. Each plant can produce up to 3 pounds of large, sweet-tasting and thick-lobed peppers from 4 - 6 inches long. Plants have an upright, branching habit and produce small, white flowers. Golden Bell Sweet Peppers are easy to grow and disease resistant. Since the peppers are sweet, they have a zero Scoville heat rating and are perfect for salads, stuffing, grilling, or eating raw on their own.

Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plant Care

Plant Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plant outdoors after the last threat of frost and when soil temperature is above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Plant it in fertile, well-drained soil in a full sun location. Add compost to the planting hole to provide young starts with added nutrition at the start. As the plant grows, it will benefit from a trellis or support; this can be added at the time of planting. Harvest fruit when mature to promote new growth and flowering.

Growing Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plant

Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plants take 65 - 72 days to mature from seed. They prefer full sun with at least 6 hours of direct light a day. Plants will reach 18 - 24 inches in height and 10 - 12 inches wide. If planting multiple peppers or other plants, allow 12 - 18 inches of space between plants. Seeds can be started indoors 6 weeks prior to the last frost date. Golden Bell Sweet Pepper plants do best outdoors and should not be grown indoors.

Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plants perform well in a vegetable garden with adequate space and sun exposure. Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plants can also be grown in containers. Select a pot 10-12” in diameter for each plant. If planting in a mixed edible container, Golden Bell Sweet Pepper plants can act as the thriller feature and should be given a larger container to support additional plants.

Watering Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plant

Golden Bell Sweet Pepper plants have average water needs and should be watered every 2-3 days depending on rain accumulation and temperature. Water when the soil is dry; check for moisture by inserting your finger into the soil. Water only at the root zone to prevent disease and ideally with drip irrigation or a soaker hose in the morning or evening.

Feeding Golden Bell Sweet Pepper Plant

Peppers can be heavy feeders; fertilize this one with a vegetable-specific fertilizer one or two times a month. Add compost at the time of planting to start plants off with a nutrition boost.
