This columnar apple, Malus 'UEB 3358-3', grows about 8 to 10 feet tall and only 2 to 3 feet wide, with soft pink spring flowers followed by full-sized green-gold apples in September. The fruit is crisp, aromatic, and slightly tart, a good fit for fresh snacking, cheese boards, cobblers, pies, and preserves. It works well for patios, narrow garden beds, edible hedges, and large containers because the fruit forms along short spurs near the main stem instead of on long spreading branches.
