Heirloom Marriage Big Brandy Beefsteak Tomato Plant Care

Being tender, the Heirloom Marriage Big Brandy Beefsteak Tomato Plant should only be planted out once the last frost has passed and the temperatures have suitably risen. As a tall indeterminate tomato, it will need supporting with a stake or cage and potentially need tying in. Big Brandy thrives when grown in full sun and on fertile soil. Suckers can be removed as they appear.

Growing Heirloom Marriage Big Brandy Beefsteak Tomato Plant

In order to produce harvestable fruits in 75 to 80 days, this hybrid needs to be grown in as much sun as possible. Reaching a potential 5-6 feet tall by 2-3 feet wide, this plant needs space to mature and plenty of air circulation. It can be cultivated outdoors in a sheltered spot or in a greenhouse.

This beefsteak tomato is suitable for growing in a large container with an opening of around 18 inches across. To maximize yields, plant it in a fertile compost.

Watering Heirloom Marriage Big Brandy Beefsteak Tomato Plant

Tomatoes are best watered in the morning to provide moisture for the rest of the day. Water tomatoes slowly and deeply, aiming for a moist, but not overly saturated soil.

Feeding Heirloom Marriage Big Brandy Beefsteak Tomato Plant

Regular fertilizing is advisable to maintain plant health and encourage fruiting. A tomato-specific feed can be given once the flowers begin to form until the end of the growing season.
